What is faith associated with?
Not needing to perform good works.
An ethereal emotion.
Obedience to God.
Not keeping the law.

What is necessary to receive the Holy Spirit?
Minimal repentance.
Sprinkling or pouring.
Baptism of fire.
Laying on of hands.

How should baptism be conducted?
Strictly in a metaphysical, figurative sense.
By fully immersing the person in water.
By pouring water over the repentant sinner.
By sprinkling water over the baptismal candidate.

What does water baptism symbolize?
No further need to obey God.
The dual nature of God.
The trinity.
A figurative death in a watery grave.

Who attempts to influence and tempt us to sin?
Jesus Christ.
The righteous angels.
Satan the devil.
God.

What apostle admitted his difficult struggle with sin?
Paul.
Barnabas.
Matthew.
John.

What body of law reveals God’s requirements for humanity?
The U.S. Constitution.
The Book of Mormon.

What does true freedom involve?
The choice to obey God’s Law.
Doing what feels right to you.
Doing away with God’s Law.
Having only faith in God.

Where does our own sin begin?
By other people’s influence.
When Satan tempts us.
In our minds.
In our actions.

What did the apostle Paul teach?
People to fully obey God.
The necessity of Christians performing Old Testament rituals and sacrifices.

Antinomianism (against the law of God).

When should we be baptized?
Before observing lent.
Upon reading through the Bible once.
After real repentance.
After a six-month probation period.

God’s grace:
Must be earned by works.
Can be purchased with money.
Indicates a license to sin.
Reflects His mercy and forgiveness.

Why was Jesus Christ baptized?
John the Baptist commanded it.
So that we didn’t need to be baptized.
To set us an example and fulfill all righteousness.
So He could be cleansed from sin.

How widespread is sin?
Some have never sinned.
Sin is all pervasive.
Most have sinned.
Only bad people sin.

What is true conversion?
Reflects a genuine change of heart.
All of the above.
Commitment to practicing the ways of God.
Willingly responding to God's call.

Why do we need the Holy Spirit?
So that we become true Christians.
All of the above.
In order to be converted.
To receive the strength to obey God.

What Scripture defines sin in its most direct form?
Romans 3:23.
I John 1:7-9.
I John 3:4.
Romans 6:23.

Which step is not necessary for salvation?
Penance.
Conversion.
Repentance.
Baptism.

The Holy Spirit:
Comes forth from God.
Is not necessary for salvation.
