Bible Personalities: James
We know him as “The Apostle James” or “James the Just”. Even though he grew up in the same household as Jesus, James (nor his other siblings) was not a believer. In fact, Jesus own brothers and sisters were at odds with the Messiah at times. This lack of faith was noted by our Saviour - with some chagrin, perhaps (Mark 6:4).
However, the work God had in mind for James was not nullified. A turnaround in James' belief and conviction may have been precipitated by a personal visit by the resurrected Jesus (1 Corinthians 15:7). As James yielded to The Way he became a leader in the Jerusalem Church. God inspired his important letter to become part of the Bible. It offers a model of faith applied in the life of a Christian.
