What is the American King James Version?

The American King James Version (AKJV) is a new English edition of the Bible based on the King James Version (KJV). It is a simple word-for-word update from the King James English.

While you will notice updates from the 1611 KJV in spelling and vocabulary, the grammar has not been changed to avoid altering the doctrine, except to correct clear departures from the original text (Greek, Aramaic and Hebrew).

We chose to use the AKJV translations because it simpler to read than other translations that are available to use on a website. The AKJV translation of the Bible is available in the public domain.

If you would like to learn more about the AKJV visit the Sword Project.
